Maintenance...
System Maintenance Utility.
This utility provides
several functions that are necessary for the maintenance of
important information stored on a database in the computer.
The System Maintenance covers the areas of:
System Base Date
Password/Logon
Signature on Forms
Output Devices
System Base Date.
The System
Base Date is the date
that the system uses to delineate which data is immediately present to the user.
The base date is the beginning date of the sequence. The end date of the
sequence is based on the type of data that is projected.
The Base
Date can be used to limit
the system to display only information that falls within a certain
range of dates. Using this Base
Date, the user can work
with only that information that meets a certain date range.
This can be useful if the user only wishes to deal with current
incidents within a calendar year. By changing the Base
Date to the
first day of the current year, the user will only be presented with
data that is entered during the range of that date up to today's
date.
NOTE: The System
Base Date is
a reference aid only. All of the information that the user has
previously entered is still on the system and is still available.
All subsequent screens that are date based can be changed at any
time to display a larger range of information. The Base
Date is
simply a tool to make the data easier to deal with. The range is up
to the user.
Password/Logon
The WSIB System Navigator
has a built in layer of security that consists of a password
protection through a login procedure. This security can be turned
off by the user of the system.
Intuitive Ease of Use
The
Data File Location displays where the Data File is stored
for Network Installations of the system.
